Notice for Pet Owners

NOTICE FOR PET OWNERS:

Though essential oils can be nice for us, they are not so for your fluffy ones! To ensure pet safety, keep oils out of their reach, thoroughly wash your hands after handling oils, dilute oils when in use, and keep pets away from burners/diffusers.

Symptoms of essential oil poisoning in pets include: 

  • Excessive dribbling.
  • Vomiting.
  • Shaking and tremoring.
  • Walking as if they’re drunk.
  • Lethargy, depression or dullness.
  • Difficulty breathing/breathing with their mouth open.
  • Collapse or seizures.

Here is a list of essential oils that are known to be harmful to pets:

  • Tea-tree oil (in high concentrations)
  • Pennyroyal, aka squawmint (sometimes used in flea treatments)
  • Wintergreen oil
  • Pine oils (often found in cleaning products)
  • Cinnamon
  • Citrus
  • Peppermint
  • Sweet birch
  • Ylang ylang
  • Anise
  • Yarrow
  • Juniper
  • Clove
  • Thyme
  • Lavender (in high concentrations)
  • Eucalyptus
